Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
1. Who we are
Vietpeep is an editorial travel website covering Vietnam for international visitors. The site is operated as a personal/editorial project. Questions about this policy can be sent to xinchao@vietpeep.com.
2. Information we collect
We keep our footprint deliberately small. We do not require accounts, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details. The only data we process is:
- Your browser language and timezone, used only to suggest relevant travel tips (never stored or shared).
- Anonymous page-view counts (page path and coarse region), used to understand which content helps readers.
- Local browser storage for your reading list and recently-read history — stored only on your device, never sent to us.
- Cookies and similar technologies described below, subject to your consent.
3. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:
- Essential cookies — needed for the site to work (for example, remembering your consent choice).
- Preference cookies — your chosen region for travel tips (only after you opt in).
- Analytics cookies — anonymous traffic measurement through Google Analytics, only after you accept analytics.
- Advertising cookies — if advertising is enabled on this site, Google and other ad networks may set cookies to show relevant ads and measure performance. These are only activated after you consent, and you can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics in consent mode. Page views are recorded only after you accept analytics, and no IP addresses or personal identifiers are stored by us. Google’s privacy policy applies to data Google processes on its own behalf.
5. Advertising
This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense or other networks. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies is described in Google’s Advertising Privacy & Terms. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google’s Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.
6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we store almost nothing about you, exercising these rights is usually as simple as clearing your cookies or choosing “Essential only” in Cookie settings. For anything else, email xinchao@vietpeep.com.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
